“[Speaker: Sandra Matthews] Everyone's looking at me, so I guess I'm going to begin. As a pilot authority, ours is quite a lived experience. They were successful in Powys. It was possible to use local data sets to identify individuals that weren't registered and send them a notice of registration. Again, those notices of registration were generally quite well received. We had a very low number of opt-outs. Obviously, where people did feel strongly and did not wish to be automatically registered, they felt very strongly, as I'm sure you've all experienced on the doorstep sometimes. Overall, as a process, it was successful. We found just over 5,000 individuals, which worked out at approximately 5 per cent of our register. I think there was overall confidence that the people we found were accurate.”
