01 Sept 2026Supply-chain certainty comes from policy certaintyPosition
“[Speaker: Matthew Pennycook] All that government can do is give certainty over policy and the direction of travel, and we will do that on new towns when we come to issue the government response, the final planning policy statement and the final locations. We have provided certainty in a range of other areas. All the feedback that I get from the sector is that it very much welcomes that. A finalised National Planning Policy Framework, a 10-year rent settlement and a 10-year social and affordable homes grant programme—all these things—give the sector lots of certainty going forward.”
